ABOUT
Inez Almeida is a mime and physical theatre actress, dancer, Yoga and Acro Yoga teacher and Thai massage therapist. She has been drawn to exploring movement ever since she can remember. Her love of movement has taken her through an exploration of many different forms and styles.
For Inez, movement is energy in motion: unblocking, freeing itself, and expressing life through the physical body. Her passion is to assist people in their journey of returning to and reconnecting to their bodies; with their emotions, cycles, uniqueness, and beauty. She aims to provide a possibility for integration and transformation, and space and love.
Inez began her movement journey at the age of 9 at the National Conservatory Dance School in Lisbon where she studied for several years. She continued studying dance and theatre in different schools, such as the Ballet Academy in Stockholm. Inez completed her Bachelor degree in physical acting at the University of Theatre in Amsterdam.
Inez is a certified Acroyoga International and Acroyoga Montreal Teacher, in addition to having studied with many renowned teachers such as Aaron Lind (Lift school of Acrobatics), Hobs and Kena (Icarian games), Pri and Jenny (Whip Pop’s) Dutch Partner Acrobatics with Det & Jim, Wybren Da Silva, Marieke & Wilko (Codarts Circus School).
Inez studied healing Thai Yoga Massage at the Sunshine Network in Om Shanti studio in Barcelona. Her experience with Thai Massage has been a profoundly transformative journey. She has led Thai massage classes, workshops, and retreats all over Europe and Asia.
Inez completed her Yoga Teacher Training at Rort Studio in Copenhagen, led by Jeppe Skovgard. This course was based on Anusara principles such as Open to Grace. This principle refers to the layer after the foundation; and after the muscular engagement, the layer where we can open our bodies to receive to connect deeper, to flow. The training is based on spiritual teachings from Buddhism and Hinduism and is influenced by the teachings of Ram Dass.
Inez has been a student of Vedanta and Vedic knowledge for more than seven years and has recently developed a more in-depth interest in exploring the sacred feminine. She has completed the Heroine’s Journey and Devi School's extensive Be Woman program, led by her revered teacher Jenny Sharada. She has also participated in the VITA Woman Program, led by Layla Martin who is the founder of the Tantric Institute of Integrated Sexuality. Inez is now offering women's circles, one-one coaching sessions, and retreats for women.
Her love for movement and its healing powers have brought her to explore different ways to access that sacred place where transformation can occur. Her teaching approach is based on the Sanskrit concept of Metta which means loving-kindness. She believes that first, one must be loving towards themselves. From this loving place, one can find out what makes them unique and celebrate it. With Metta, one can tune into their playful and creative inner child to find pleasure and ease within body, mind, and life.
Inez shares with an open heart, creating a safe space for deep connection, trust and intimacy, allowing love to flow freely and joyfully.
Her work as a freelance artist has taken her through several countries: from South Korea to Algeria to Lebanon, to name just a few.
To Inez, Yoga is intimacy with the body and yourself; Acro Yoga is intimacy with another, and art is intimacy with the universe.
