INEZ ALMEIDA \\Co-creatrix//
I am Inez, an independent artist, performer, theater maker, acrobatic dancer, writer and teacher.
I am of Portuguese descent, being born and raised in sweden, and having spend my whole adult life in the Netherlands.
The core of my art journey is interdisciplinary. I like weaving between disciplines, the 'in between' spaces is where I find enough friction to occupy unknownness, magic, mystery that allows me to re-imagine story-telling possibilities.
The narratives that convey my practice come from a deep relation with ancestral and collective trauma, and ways to heal through body and sensorial somatic work, plant medicine and shamanism. My work is deeply interwoven in the paradox and beauty between grief and celebration. Embodiment embedded in sensorial fabrics while speculating myths. I am an intuitive mover , a spiritual activist, a femme defender and a Moon lover.
Besides my own work I have been collaborating with a wide range of collectives, artists and companies a.o. Schweigman& , Jakop Albhom , Nicole Beutler projects, Vis-à-Vis theater company, Martijn Veldhoen , Muhanad Rasheed dance company, Lotus Edde Khouri , Catoke Kramer, Nicolas Ipina, Marcelo Evelin.
Performed and worked in The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Brazil, Algeria, Lebanon, South Korea, Germany, Luxemburg, Marroco, Japan a.o.
